Test shots of potential location

The theme of our video has an urban, street and metropolitan city atmosphere. To create the urban atmosphere that we want, as a group we decided to shoot one of our main base-tracks in the east end of London, Brick Lane. Brick Lane is renowned for it's street markets, graffiti and vintage clothing stores so it's no doubt that we wanted to shoot in Brick Lane. Another Bonus is Brick Lane is only a few bus stops away from our College.

For our music video we also wanted shots of our artist in front of a Black background where lights will be flashing on her. Room 303 in our College has a black background that we can used to shot our music video.

Other location that we are considering is Hannah D's uncles club. The song emphasises and many of the lyrics are about LIGHTS. The clubbing atmosphere also gives off a City vibe that we want for our music video aswell as the flashing & illuminating lights that we want to incorporate.

Music Video Inspiration

One of the music videos I have looked at is Lights by Ellie Goulding. As you can tell by the name of her song, Ellie's main element in her video was lights and so was based entirely on that. The video starts off with some lights.

This music video mainly had base tracks consisting of Ellie Goulding against a black background with different coloured lights. In our music video, we are hoping that one of our base tracks will include the singer standing against a black background with different types and colours of lights so they stand out.

Another music video I looked at is Hot Right Now by DJ Fresh ft Rita Ora. The location in this video is what inspired our group to film in Brick Lane and Camden. This is mainly because those locations are seen as urban, edgy, grunge and a hangout for young adults. We also wanted graffiti as one of our main elements in the video which has also been used in Rita Ora's video.

The last music video I looked at was Lovesick by Emily Osment. The basetracks in this video are all mostly shots of Emily standing with lots of different types and colours of lights flashing on her. She had also used UV lights to make it stand out even more. In our music video, one of our basetracks will be filmed using a black background and different coloured lights.

We have decided that our artist will be signed to Island Records UK. Different artists such as Nicki Minaj, Tulisa and Florence and the Machine are signed to Island Records and have influenced our artist. Especially Florence and the machine as we are using her track. 

Analysis of music videos that influenced us

1.DJ Fresh ft Rita Ora- Hot Right Now
As a group we like this music video specifically for the type of urban/street location with the graffiti etc.



DJ Fresh video is set in one main location in a graffti park in LA. To get a similar setting as this we came up with the idea to film our music video in Brick Lane/Camden as its known for its famous street art and urban edgy vibe. It also has a lot of dancers featuring in it which we want in our own video too. Also we want our costume to be similar as we think it goes with the theme we are trying to set.

2. Kanye West- All Of The Lights

Our group also like the idea of different colour luminous lights flashing against the artist on a black background to highlight the colours as the song we have chosen to recreate is upbeat includes lyrics 'colour illuminates' etc. Also we like the different colour flashing font of the lyrics and would like to include this in our own video as it is different and will mix the video up a bit although it still sticking with the theme.
